Students of the Secondary Electrical Engineering School “Vaso Aligrudić” finalized their practical training through a visit to the NDC- the crowning of an important process

The eight-week vocational training of students of the Secondary Electrical Engineering School “Vaso Aligrudić” at CGES was rounded off with a visit to the National Dispatch Center (NDC) –  the facility from which the entire transmission system of Montenegro is managed.

On behalf of CGES, the students were welcomed by Ranko Redžić, Director of the NDC, who introduced them to how operational control of the electric power system and the daily tasks are performed within the centre, emphasizing the importance of timely response, automation, and employee expertise.

"Once young people get the chance to dive into the real world of energy, their true journey begins. I am proud that we have arranged such a journey for them through an eight-week practical training and have introduced them to the key aspects of the transmission system operation. Their curiosity, engagement, and openness to learning have shown us that the future of this sector has potential. They had good mentors and experts from CGES, and it was a pleasure for all of us to transfer knowledge to them, show them the technologies we use, visit some of the key power facilities, and motivate them to stay on this path. Such practical training is not only a chance for students, but also a way to build synergy between the education system and one of the most relevant power companies. We believe in young people and do the most to be supportive on their professional path in the future.

Ersan Spahić, director of the Secondary Electrical Engineering School, said:

"The visit is the crown of a big process. The practical training at CGES was a great opportunity for students to complement the knowledge gained in the classrooms with real systems. Our students have improved their theoretical and practical knowledge. I believe that this experience will be a drive for further success and the motivation for continuing their education at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and further developing their skills, contributing to the future progress of our profession and one day becoming part of the power sector.“

Head of the Operational Control Department, Zoran Radulović, shared concrete knowledge about system functioning, technologies, and operational challenges of such a centre through direct and interesting interaction with the students.

In addition to the director, the visit was also attended by the school's closest associates and professors, who supported the students and monitored their development throughout their practical training.
