After successful international competitive bidding to procure works and goods required for implementation of the 'Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor (I) - Grid Section in Montenegro - Part II’ project (Components 1&2), the Contract is awarded to the Consortium Siemens-Elnos.
The Contract, signed today between Mr. Dragan Kujovic Executive director of Crnogorski Elektroprenosni Sistem(CGES) and Mr. Erwin Dastl on behalf of the Consortium Siemens-Elnos, represents a significant milestone in implementation of the "Trans-Balkan Electricity Corridor (I) - Grid Section in Montenegro", which is a part of larger initiative for electricity transmission in the Western Balkans, supported by the European Union. The EU provided financial assistance for this Project under the Western Balkans Investment Framework, through the German development bank – Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) as lead IFI.
The European Union continuous to support the infrastructure projects in Montenegro. The successful implementation of this significant investment will contribute to further development of energy sector in Montenegro and raise the security and quality of power supply. Good energy links are necessary for future investments, as well as for free flow of energy which would benefit both our country and the region, said Dragan Kujović, CGES Executive Director. CGES remains fully supportive to both national and regional energy initiatives and continuous to develop its own capacities to address all future challenges, concluded Mr. Kujović.
The respective services will be provided in 15 locations-substations across Montenegro.
