Representatives of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (CANU), Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem (CGES), Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) and Crnogorski elektrodistributivni sistem (CEDIS)<\/b> signed today a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at improving the efficiency of the electric power system and the application of artificial intelligence in the electric power industry.<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Memorandum envisages that CANU and power companies will jointly work on scientific-research and development projects in the field of power industry through cooperation with the ENEKO centre, as a special scientific research unit of CANU. In addition, the holding of joint scientific gatherings, round tables and expert discussions in the field of electric power industry, issue of publications, as well as cooperation on other activities of mutual interest have been envisaged.<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

President of CANU, Academician Dragan K. Vuk\u010devi\u0107 <\/span><\/b>said that it is necessary for institutions to network and cooperate with each other.<\/span><\/o_p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe future of development lies in this synergy. Within CANU, there is the ENEKO centre that we founded relatively long ago, but which did not work much, and which was formed as a centre for the power industry, ecology and sustainable development. I am glad that the members of the academy - Vice President Stankovi\u0107 and Academician \u0110urovi\u0107 launched an initiative to renovate that centre and cooperate with power companies\", Vuk\u010devi\u0107 specified.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He considers it a significant step in the networking of institutions in Montenegro. <\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I hope that based on the Memorandum that we signed today, we will have round tables, scientific conferences, forums and joint projects. I believe that it can be useful for you and for our institution\", Vuk\u010devi\u0107 said.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Executive Director of CGES - Ivan Asanovi\u0107 <\/span><\/b>said that he was very pleased that the ENEKO centre would be activated again for joint work on development projects and expressed great satisfaction with the initiative launched by CANU.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI agree that the power industry is one of the most important economic branches in Montenegro. This is proven by the results achieved every year in the power sector. We believe that this level of cooperation with CANU is very significant from several aspects - professional, technical, and promotional level, so that finally the projects we implement are presented to the public in the right way\", Asanovi\u0107 specified.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He pointed out that one of the missions of CGES is to develop projects in accordance with the most modern principles of environmental protection and ecology, stating that sustainable development is the basis of every development and infrastructure project of that company.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman of the EPCG Board of Directors, Milutin \u0110ukanovi\u0107 <\/span><\/b>assessed CANU's initiative to sign the Memorandum as significant.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI feel that you have recognised the importance of the power industry. I don't want to be subjective, but this sector is the most important for us. That is why this cooperation, when it comes from such an important address, encourages us to continue working on the projects we have started\", \u0110ukanovi\u0107 said.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reminded that during the meeting of power ministers in the Berlin Process, three things were noted that are not good for the countries of the region.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFirst, that legal regulation is not good. The second is that the public registers are not in order, and number three is the lack of professional staff. This is the problem we are facing and we expect CANU to help us, and EPCG will be completely open to cooperation\u201d, \u0110ukanovi\u0107 said.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The executive Director of CEDIS, Vladimir \u010ca\u0111enovi\u0107 <\/span><\/b>pointed out that <\/b>science is indispensable in the work of electric power companies.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe saw at the previous meeting that there is plenty of room for our cooperation, that we need each other and that we will do it for the benefit of the state and society. I expect this document to provide the benefits it has, and which we need to reap together, in the shortest possible time\u201d, \u010ca\u0111enovi\u0107 specified.<\/o_p><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
