In a significant step towards energy transition and alignment with European standards, Crnogorski Elektroprenosni Sistem AD (CGES), the French Development Agency (AFD), and RTE International (RTEi) have signed a grant agreement on technical support worth \u20ac950,000 in the presence of Milojko Spaji\u0107, Prime Minister of Montenegro, Novica Vukovi\u0107, Minister of Finance of Montenegro and Anne-Marie Maskay, Ambassador of France to Montenegro. This agreement marks an ambitious collaboration to modernize Montenegro\u2019s electric infrastructure and support the integration of renewable energy sources. The project aims to rebuild and extend the Peru\u0107ica substation (225\/110 kV) and replace two aging autotransformers at the Pljevlja substation, both crucial to the stability of the national grid. The objective is to enhance Montenegro's grid capacity to integrate new renewable energy sources and reduce losses, contributing to Montenegro\u2019s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. \"We are delighted to embark on this collaboration, which will strengthen Montenegro\u2019s energy security and prepare the country to meet the demands of the European energy market,\u201d said Ivan Asanovi\u0107, Chief Executive Officer at CGES.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThis agreement with CGES highlights our shared commitment to supporting energy transition and sustainable development in the Western Balkans, in order to help align their energy transition with the requisites of the European Union\u201d said Cyrille Bellier,<\/strong> Vice President for - Europe, Middle East, Asia at AFD.
