At its regular session held today, the Board of Directors of Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem (CGES) unanimously decided to reappoint Ivan Asanovi\u0107, a graduate electrical engineer, as the Company\u2019s Chief Executive Officer. The appointment process was conducted in accordance with internal regulations and followed a publicly announced competition.
Based on an evaluation of his previous performance, as well as his presented program and vision for the company\u2019s development, Asanovi\u0107 has been elected to a new four-year term. During his previous mandate, he achieved notable results in modernizing operations, improving efficiency, and strengthening partnerships, thereby making a significant contribution to the company\u2019s stability and progress.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Board of Directors expressed confidence that, under his leadership, CGES will continue to grow as a stable, innovative, and socially responsible company, dedicated to further improving business results and strengthening relations with employees, partners, and the wider community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon his reappointment, Ivan Asanovi\u0107 stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results we achieved together demonstrate that consistency, dedication, and professionalism are always recognized. I sincerely thank the Board of Directors for the support and trust they have shown to me and the management team during the previous mandate because such cooperation was crucial to the successes we achieved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biography of Ivan Asanovi\u0107<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ivan Asanovi\u0107 was born in 1982 in Podgorica, where he completed his primary education at \u201cVlado Mili\u0107\u201d Elementary School and later attended \u201cSlobodan \u0160kerovi\u0107\u201d High School. He graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Montenegro in Podgorica, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Engineering and Automation.
He began his professional career in 2005 at the international construction company \u201cCYVAS General Trade LTD \u2013 Cyprus\u201d, where he worked as an electrical and automation engineer during the construction of the new passenger terminal at Podgorica Airport.
He started his employment in Elektroprivreda Crne Gore \u2013 Functional Unit Prenos in 2006 as a Substation Maintenance Engineer in the Maintenance Department. Since 2009, he has worked as the Chief Engineer for Substation Maintenance. As part of his work in this Department, he participated in the implementation of several investment projects for the reconstruction of substations and replacement of high-voltage equipment in various positions, from a member of the Project Revision Commission to a responsible works manager and supervising engineer.
Since 2010, he has actively participated in the implementation of the international investment project of submarine interconnection Montenegro-Italy, and in 2011 he managed the project of construction of SS 400\/110\/35 kV Lastva and extension of the existing SS 400\/220\/110 kV Pljevlja 2, during which he gained significant work experience.
Between 2011 and 2019, he headed the Department for Secondary and Information Systems. In this role, he contributed to several key investment projects, including the upgrade of the existing SCADA system, preparations for the Backup Dispatch Center, and the implementation of a new SCADA and EMS. His career is distinguished by technical excellence, a systematic approach, and a strong ability to identify practical solutions even in highly demanding situations \u2013 qualities that helped pave the way for his appointment as Chief Executive Officer of CGES in 2021.
He gained respectable experience by being a member of international working groups as a representative of CGES. On this occasion, we would like to single out committees for network development within ENTSO-E, as well as committees for research, development and innovation.
He is a member of the Chamber of Chamber of Engineering of Montenegro, the national and Paris committee of CIGRE (International Council on Large Electric Systems).
