Today's meeting in Villa Gorica was attended by the Minister of Energy and Mining, MSc Admir \u0160ahmanovi\u0107, the Minister of Public Works, Majda Ad\u017eovi\u0107, the Masdar company team, and the Executive Director of CGES, Ivan Asanovi\u0107, Director of the Development and Investment Sector, Dragan Perunovi\u0107, as well as representatives of the Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, to continue discussions on the concretisation of cooperation and projects that are at the top of the priorities of the Government of Montenegro, and which could be of common interest in the coming period.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister \u0160ahmanovi\u0107 said that Montenegro is strategically and in the long term building its position as a reliable and competitive actor on the European energy market, emphasising that the development of energy infrastructure and renewable energy sources are among the key state priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Executive Director of CGES, Ivan Asanovi\u0107, emphasised the importance of improving the transmission network as a key prerequisite for the integration of new green energy sources and reliable connection to the power system. He stressed that CGES actively coordinates plans with national energy companies to ensure stable, sustainable and efficient development of the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interlocutors agreed that the announced construction of the second core of the submarine cable with Italy represents an extremely wise and strategically oriented investment, which provides Montenegro with a stronger and more stable position on the European electricity market. The vision of Montenegro as an energy hub is fully aligned with the development plans of the Government of Montenegro. Representatives of EPCG, the Executive Director, Zdravko Draga\u0161, and the Director of the Development and Investment Sector, Ivan Mrvaljevi\u0107, pointed out that the development of green energy is the highest priority of the national energy company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Masdar delegation expressed their readiness for their expert teams to continue technical discussions with the management of CGES and Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, with the aim of identifying priority and mature projects for joint implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special emphasis was placed on the importance of coordinating and harmonising the plans of national energy companies to ensure a stable, sustainable and efficient development of the energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solar projects, including floating solar power plants, battery energy storage systems, as well as hydropower development, in which Masdar has significant engineering and technical experience, have been recognised as areas of special interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interlocutors agreed that the focus should be placed on projects that are technically the most mature, environmentally friendly and aligned with the development of the electric power network to ensure their sustainable and efficient implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
