The Prime Minister was welcomed at the site by a delegation of Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem-CGES, led by Executive Director Ivan Asanović and Chairman of the Board Aleksandar Mijušković.

On this occasion, Asanović highlighted the importance of the reconstructed “Pljevlja 1” substation, an investment worth €3 million.

“The reconstruction and extension of the 110/35 kV substation ‘Pljevlja 1’, which has been in operation since 1961, represents the backbone of electricity supply in Pljevlja and one of the most demanding and significant infrastructure projects within Montenegro’s power system. This project is a true example of expertise, responsibility, and top-notch engineering. Such results reflect a high level of planning, coordination, and professionalism of our teams. Its implementation has significantly improved system reliability, reduced maintenance costs, and enabled modern remote-control operations. Its importance is further enhanced by integration with the 110 kV transmission line ‘Žabljak–Pljevlja’, which previously operated at 35 kV, thereby strengthening the security of supply across the entire northern region,” said Asanović.

He also noted that another strategically important project for tourism development has been successfully completed—the construction of the 110/35 kV substation in Žabljak, the first transmission substation in the municipality, along with the 110 kV transmission line “Brezna–Žabljak.”

“Following a successful trial operation, the substation has received its operational permit and has now been formally commissioned. The value of this investment is €5 million, and its significance is multifaceted. The project ensures a more stable and reliable electricity supply, delivering significant benefits for Žabljak as one of Montenegro’s key tourist destinations. It enhances the sustainability and efficiency of the tourism sector while creating conditions for further economic growth and new investments,” he added.

The Director of CGES emphasized that these projects send a strong message to the Montenegrin public:

“Domestic expertise and knowledge are capable of delivering even the most complex energy projects with maximum reliability and with no interruptions in supply to consumers. These projects are the foundation for a safer, more developed, and economically stronger north of Montenegro.”

Chairman of the Board of CGES, Aleksandar Mijušković, presented to the Prime Minister a five-year investment plan exceeding €200 million.

“I would use this opportunity to invite you to be our guest at the opening of the ‘Lastva–Pljevlja’ transmission line, which will be completed in about a month. This line connects the coast to Italy via a submarine cable and extends all the way to Pljevlja. It is one of the most substantial projects we have implemented contributing to Montenegro becoming a major regional energy hub, attracting increased interest from international investors,” said Mijušković .

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić underlined the importance of the projects implemented by CGES:

“Energy independence, and in particular the stability of electricity supply is of paramount importance for our country’s further economic development. By continuously investing in energy projects across Montenegro and building strategic partnerships with global energy leaders, we are strengthening the foundations of a secure and prosperous future,” said Spajić.

["post-9579","vijest-i-dogadjaj","type-vijest-i-dogadjaj","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
