Crnogorski Elektroprenosni Sistem AD (CGES) is a company headquartered in Podgorica that operates in Montenegro in the public interest sector – the transmission of electric energy. CGES's operations are specifically regulated by the Energy Law and a series of secondary acts, which further regulate the work of the transmission system operator, such as the methodologies established by the Energy Regulatory Agency (REGAGEN), and the rules for the operation of the electricity transmission system, which are adopted by the operator and approved by the Agency. The company is majority state-owned, while the strategic partner is the Italian transmission system operator – Terna Rete Elettrica Nazionale S.p.A, which is CGES's second-largest shareholder.

The company is majority-owned by the state, with the majority shareholder – the State of Montenegro – having concluded a strategic partnership agreement with the second-largest shareholder, the Italian transmission system operator Terna S.p.A.
