International cooperation
Considering that the Law on Cross-Border Exchange of Electricity and Gas stipulates that cross-border electricity transmission may be performed by a Transmission System Operator (TSO) that has established a system of international cooperation, and that such cooperation is an obligation of the TSO, CGES continuously develops and enhances international cooperation within its operations, both at the regional and European levels.
CGES is a member of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E), as well as Med-TSO – the Association of Transmission System Operators of the Mediterranean countries. It also participates in the work of Energy Community groups and manages the ENTSO-E control area of Montenegro, which together with the control areas of Serbia and North Macedonia forms the SMM control block. CGES also actively contributes to initiatives aimed at integrating electricity markets.
