CGES DONATED A MACHINE WORTH 20,000 EUROS TO THE GENERAL HOSPITAL IN PLJEVLJA

The Montenegrin electricity transmission system donated to the Public Institution General Hospital 'Pljevlja'. Electric motor system for orthopaedics in value of 20 thousand eurosThanks to this donation, the Pljevlja General Hospital will improve its orthopaedic surgical programme by implementing the latest technological advancements in the treatment of traumatic and other musculoskeletal pathologies.

At the event to mark the donation, they spoke. Dr Kenan Hrapović, Minister of Health of Montenegro, Vesna Bracanović, Chair of the CGES Board of Directors and Mile Goločevac, Director of the General Hospital "Pljevlja".

Dr Kenan Hrapović, the Minister of Health of Montenegro, expressed his gratitude to CGES for the significant donation and emphasised that this donation, worth 20 thousand euros, will significantly contribute to improving the quality of healthcare provision in the Pljevlja municipality:

This is a donation related to the field of orthopaedics, and the citizens of Pljevlja will receive a higher quality and more accessible health service in this area in the near future. I support such donations, as we all know that the healthcare system is always in need of additional funds, and CGES is a socially responsible company that has been consistently supporting Montenegrin healthcare for many years, and I hope they will continue to do so in the future. I would also like to point out that the Government of Montenegro has allocated over 15 million euros this year, as well as for the next year, for the procurement of modern medical equipment for all healthcare institutions in Montenegro."

Vesna Bracanović, the Chairwoman of the CGES Board of Directors, expressed her particular pleasure at visiting Pljevlja, as this town represents a very significant energy hub: "Here are two substations that belong to the transmission system. CGES has major and significant investments in this very area; the construction of the Trans-Balkan Corridor, which will pass through Pljevlja, is currently underway, and there are other investments that we are planning, investing and implementing, which are of particular importance, both for the stability of the supply and for the safety of end-users, as well as for further activities regarding the integration of the electricity market. We would like to emphasise that CGES is a socially responsible company, which is aware of all the challenges facing the healthcare system, so this is not the first time we have sought to provide support through donations. In 2015, we donated to the Children's Hospital in Podgorica, and in 2016, together with the Association of Parents of Children with Cancer, we donated funds to renovate the haemato-oncology department in Podgorica. This year, in our communications with the Pljevlja General Hospital, we identified the best way to provide our support and, in that regard, donated an electromechanical system for the orthopaedics department. We truly hope that this equipment will be of particular significance to the hospital."

Mile Goločevac, the director of the General Hospital "Pljevlja" also thanked CGES for the significant donation: "The acquisition of this equipment will greatly improve and modernise the provision of healthcare services to the citizens of Pljevlja and Žabljak, as well as to tourists from various countries, to whom this institution provides healthcare services during the winter and summer seasons."

With this donation, CGES, as a socially responsible company, continues to provide assistance and support to the Montenegrin healthcare system, all for the benefit of patients.
