Recognising the importance and role of one of the world's most prestigious events for promoting a country and its potential, the Montenegrin Transmission System, in cooperation with the Ministry of Capital Investments and Elektroprivreda Crne Gore, took part in the EXPO – "Dubai 2020, under the slogan 'Green Energy Transition in Montenegro'.
The State Secretary for Energy and Mining addressed the attendees. Marko Perunović, who, among other things, said that Montenegro represents a country of enormous energy potential, with a large number of sunny days, an average of more than 240 a year, which makes it ideal for solar projects, and respectable opportunities for the valorisation of wind energy resources and the development of renewable energy sources. The Chairman of the CGES Board of Directors, Aleksandar Mijušković, while welcoming the guests and participants, he emphasised that in addition to the natural beauties that make our small country both special and beautiful, we can boast of numerous potentials, especially when it comes to the energy sector.
"Thinking that a country's electricity sector must not be closed off and trapped between potential and limitations, and that connecting with the region and building energy bridges is the future, I want to emphasise that our efforts are focused on creating an international company, which aims to realise capital projects. We have succeeded in this. I would like to remind you that the impetus for the development of the transmission network was precisely the Montenegro–Italy interconnection, which was commissioned at the end of 2019.The submarine cable between Montenegro and Italy, together with the Trans-Balkans electricity transmission corridor, represents the backbone for connecting the transmission systems in the Balkan region and Italy, Mijušković emphasised, adding that ...is also working on the development and strengthening of Montenegro's domestic and cross-border transmission network, as well as on the reconstruction and improvement of the operational readiness of facilities managed by CGES. That the transmission system is ready for planned investments and new challenges in the period ahead was confirmed by the Executive Director of CGES. Ivan Asanović.
“Prije svega, radi se na projektima prenosne mreže za solarnu elektranu ‘Briska Gora’ i VE ‘Gvozd’, dok se ključne investicije očekuju kada je trafostanica “Brezna” u pitanju, koja će biti glavna konekcija za HE ‘Komarnica'”, naglasio je Asanović.
Representatives of the Electric Power of Montenegro gave presentations – Ivan Mrvaljević, who presented investment and development projects in solar, wind and hydro energy, as well as Bojan Đordan.
Potential investors had the opportunity to learn more about investment and development projects in Montenegro's energy sector in bilateral and multilateral meetings with members of our team.
