Representatives of the Montenegrin Transmission System Operator (CGES), the German Development Bank (KfW), the Siemens-Elnos Consortium, and the project consultant, Tractabel-SEEC, visited the substation in Budva.

110/35 kV Markovići substation 'Markovići' 110/35 kV substation – Budva, is one of 15 locations – substations across Montenegro where reconstruction and modernisation works have been completed. These works included the replacement of various high-voltage equipments in the substations, the reconstruction and replacement of protection and control system equipment, and the integration of several high-voltage substations into the SCADA system.

Ivan Asanović, Executive Director of CGES, stated on that occasion: We are today at the 'Markovići' substation, one of our 15 facilities that are The realisation of this large and complex project, reconstructed and modernised. On Significance Regarding these investments, I would highlight, first and foremost, that they are part of a wider of the project entitled "Trans-Balkan Power Transmission Corridor (I) – Section in Montenegro", which is being implemented with the support of the European Union which provided 25 million euros in non-repayable funds which is paid by the German Development Bank (KfW), for works and equipment.

Successful completion of works in 15 substations across Montenegro, which were very demanding, both from a professional and technical, as well as an organisational perspective, We have, first and foremost, secured an increase in the capacity of the transmission system, and with it, the security and quality of the power supply for all our citizens and businesses. I would like to share a fact with you that illustrates the significance of this investment. In 2022, we did not have a single power cut for consumers on the Montenegrin coast, which makes us both very satisfied and proud. The completion of the works has created the conditions for the further development of Montenegro's energy sector, as well as for the country's inclusion in the regional electricity market and more efficient processes for connecting renewable energy sources.

Providing adequate infrastructure, as in the north, so too In the coastal region, it was also one of Montenegro's strategic priorities, given its contribution to the successful development of tourism and the economy and its positive impact on the standard of living of its citizens.

I believe that the investments we have completed, as well as those currently underway, have a strong impact on economic activity in our country and contribute significantly to increasing employment and GDP growth, as well as positioning the company, and the state of Montenegro, as one of the central players in the electricity sector in Southeast Europe.

We are continuing to invest in the transmission network, as clearly demonstrated by our investment of EUR 195 million over the next five years, remaining true to our strategic commitment to expand our business in a responsible, profitable and sustainable manner.

Finally, I would like to highlight, and at the same time thank to our project partners (the expert consultants, designers and contractors), who made a significant contribution to ensuring this work was carried out successfully and without major problems, as well as to the brilliant team of our engineers who managed the project and, with their knowledge, competence and expertise, brought it to a successful conclusion. is Asanović.
