The Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES) and the Paralympic Committee (POK) today signed a new sponsorship agreement, extending their cooperation for another year.
The general sponsorship agreement was signed by Igor Tomić, President of POK, and Ivan Asanović, CEO of CGES.
Asanović, who visited the Montenegrin table tennis players accompanied by his colleagues and wished them success at the Montenegro Open, reiterated that the Paralympians will always have the support of the company he heads.
I am extremely pleased that our company has decided this year to be the proud main sponsor of the POK and to extend our collaboration, which has already become a tradition. At CGES, we value diversity and individuality, and the Paralympians have shown that they are worthy of all the attention they receive. I hope our friendship will last for many years to come," said Asanović.
Tomić reminded that CGES is the first general sponsor of the umbrella association for disability sport and that the cooperation has been ongoing since 2018.
"On behalf of the Paralympians, their coaches, our Paralympic family, of which you are now an integral part, I want to say a big and sincere thank you. Not only are you continuing, but you are also strengthening CGES's support for Montenegro's Paralympic movement. I will not speak about CGES; your results in your field speak for you more than enough. But I will speak about you: your social responsibility, where you are active not only in sport but also in culture, education and health. In all those sensitive, under-represented areas of society that are in need of help," said Tomić.
He emphasised that the record assistance in the pre-Paralympic year means a great deal on the path to the next Paralympic Games in Paris in 2024.
All our roles as directors and presidents are transient, but what we leave behind as people through our actions is something that will endure.
"What you, Mr Asanović, your team and the CGES have done for the Montenegrin Paralympic movement is something that will leave a deep mark," said Tomić.
