The Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES) and the Paralympic Committee (POK) today signed a new sponsorship agreement, extending their cooperation for another year.

The general sponsorship agreement was signed by The Executive Director of CGES, Ivan Asanović, and the President of POK, Igor Tomić.

Tomić reminded that CGES is the first general sponsor of the umbrella association for disability sport and that the cooperation has been ongoing since 2018.

He said they are continuing a fine tradition, which has now become more of a friendship than a business and sponsorship affair.

According to him, they are continuing their collaboration with the title sponsor on a record-breaking deal in an exceptionally important, historic Paralympic year.

"On behalf of our children, our athletes, and the Montenegrin Paralympians, I want to say a sincere thank you to you, as one of the most successful companies, for once again demonstrating your level of social responsibility. Thank you personally, Mr Asanović, and to your team, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Aleksandar Mijušković," said Tomić.

While congratulating him on his award for the most successful manager, Tomić said he believes the recognition was not only for his business achievements, but also for the qualities he demonstrates as a man of high professional and moral standards.

You yourselves are initiating a constant growth in support for Paralympians, and I am sure that they, as they have so many times before, will repay it in the best possible way. And may it return to you in the right way, both professionally and, what is much more important, in your family life. In the same way that you give to Montenegrin society, the POK and the Paralympians. Onwards together," said Tomić.

Asanović said that he, and the company he heads, are particularly pleased that they are the main sponsor of the umbrella association for disability sport.

"Signing this sponsorship agreement represents a great promotion of inclusivity, and concrete support for athletes with disabilities who, through years of spending time together, have already become our true friends and companions. We are very much looking forward to helping in this way as a good and successful company," said Asanović.

He wished the Montenegrin Paralympians success in all competitions this year.

"We want you to be successful in all competitions, because your success is our success too and it is a great motivation for us. Your achievements are a victory of the spirit; it is a victory of spiritual and inner strength and will over all the obstacles life presents. That is why your successes are particularly inspiring to us," said Asanović.

He emphasised that every medal and the achievement of any Paralympian is far greater than any managerial recognition.

"We wish you every success in every competition, especially the one in Paris. We will be with you, cheering you on, and hope for great results. We are proud that, as a small country, we are so well represented. I hope that our friendship and general sponsorship will last for a long time to come," said Asanović.

He also appealed to other companies in Montenegro to support the Paralympians in the exceptionally challenging year of 2024.

The athletes who have secured direct qualification for the Paris Paralympic Games – table tennis players Filip Radović and Luka Bakić, and athlete Maja Rajković – presented symbolic gifts to the CEO of CGES in gratitude for the company's support.
