CGES was at hometo be the regular meeting of the SECI (South East Cooperation Initiative) and TSP (Transmission System Planning) working group, which was held from 11-13 May in Budva.

In addition to our company, the meeting was also attended by representatives of: ESO EAD (Bulgarian Transmission System Operator), TRANSELECTRICA-E (Romanian Transmission System Operator), HEP OPS (Croatian Transmission System Operator), MEPSO (Macedonian Transmission System Operator), EMS (Transmission System Operator of Serbia), OST (Albanian Transmission System Operator), KOSTT (Kosovo Transmission System Operator), NOS BiH (Independent Transmission System Operator of Bosnia and Herzegovina), the Energy Secretariat from Vienna, EKC (Electric Power Coordination Centre from Belgrade, EIHP (Energy Institute "Hrvoje Požar" from Zagreb), as well as representatives of USAID and USEA from Washington.
The main topics of the meeting were the planning of future grid projects, as well as a review of the preliminary results of the study on the electricity market outlook to 2030. The study, prepared by EHIP, Zagreb and EKC, Belgrade, shed light on the future performance of both existing and new planned HVDC connections to Italy. The final version of the study is expected to be published in the autumn of this year.
For more than 15 years, the SECI TCP project has been a pioneer in South-East Europe for a coordinated grid planning approach, ensuring the necessary infrastructure for a reliable and secure electricity market. The significant results of SECI TCP have been achieved through the dedicated, precise and diligent planning by engineers from the TSO. Support funding and coordination was provided by USAID and USEA.
Alongside the successful work on the project, the necessary support and recognition were secured for SECI TSP to become a sustainable volunteer association that will continue with regional planning in the years to come.
