Upon reviewing the application and accompanying documentation received for the 2016 'UPCG Award for DOP' competition, the UPCG Commission has decided to award the 'Care for the Environment' prize to Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem AD.
Bearing in mind that the Competition is a continuation of the activities undertaken by the UPCG from the 'Socially Responsible Business for All' project, the Employers' Union Commission was guided by criteria relating to the sustainability of the projects presented, their innovativeness and others.
CGES has nominated the project of installing artificial nests for the grey falcon. This is a unique project in Montenegro, initiated by CGES in cooperation with CZIP, with which this electricity company has taken on a special role and responsibility in environmental protection.This is a project to install artificial nests on pylons of high-voltage power lines with the aim of protecting the grey falcon. On this occasion, we donated 30 nesting boxes for this rare bird to CZIP.
This project is a good example of best practice and is qualified, first and foremost, by its innovation, the involvement of multiple parties, raising environmental protection awareness and '...Contributions' conservation of nature through the protection of birds, as well as protection from poachers, because Unfortunately, this species of bird in Montenegro is on the brink of extinction due to pressure, which means it is a priority objective. The survival of this bird species. For this species, the existence of sustainable nesting areas is of vital importance.
As the recipient of the 'UPCG Award for CSR', we are confident that CGES will continue to apply the principles of socially responsible business practices and, by setting an example, promote them among other business entities in Montenegro.
