TRINITY project ("Increasing the regional border transmission system capacity using intelligent market technology" which is implemented under the auspices of the Executive Agency for Innovation and Networks (INEA) of the European Commission, It was started in October 2019 and will last all until October 2023.

CGES is part of a consortium that is carrying out this research project together with end-users (transmission system operators, electricity exchanges, the regional coordination centre, promoters of renewable electricity sources), and with research institutions from the EU and Southeast Europe.

The project aims to facilitate the interconnection of electricity markets in the South East Europe (SEE) region, as well as the connection to the Multi-regional Coupled Market (MRC). This project will develop a set of solutions to improve cooperation and coordination between the transmission system operators of Southeast Europe, in order to integrate the region's electricity markets, while promoting greater participation and market entry for renewable sources.
