A NEW REMOTE MONITORING AND CONTROL SYSTEM (SCADA)

The project involves the procurement and implementation of a new SCADA system. The project for introducing the new SCADA system consists of two subprojects:

The project involves the procurement and implementation of a new SCADA/EMS system. The objective of the project is to establish a supervisory and control architecture consisting of two parallel independent centers in a main and backup configuration, located at two physically separate sites: the National Dispatch Center (NDC) and the Reserve Dispatch Center (RDC). Through this project, CGES will acquire a modern system for monitoring and controlling the Montenegrin power system, as well as a complete system for power system analysis, both in real-time and study mode. Additionally, the project includes the commissioning of the so-called market module, through which CGES will procure and provide ancillary services (regulation, reserve, etc.).
The project implementation was completed and the SCADA/EMS system was put into trial operation at the end of 2019.

This subproject was carried out in accordance with the contract signed with the company ‘Eminent’ LLC from Podgorica, with the aim of establishing two completely independent configurations of the existing and new SCADA/EMS system. In the first phase of the new SCADA/EMS system implementation project, new RTUs were installed in 28 facilities, representing the initial stage of the project implementation.
