At today's extraordinary General Meeting of CGES shareholders, held in Podgorica, the outgoing Board of Directors of the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System was dismissed, along with its chairwoman, Vesna Bracanović. The shareholders also confirmed the decision to appoint new members of the Board of Directors, and henceforth the state capital in CGES will be represented by: Aleksandar Mijušković, M.Eng. Predrag Mijajlović, M.Eng. Orhan Šahmanović Law graduate i Dušan Kljajić, BSc in Applied Computer Science. AThe joint-stock company 'Elektromreža Srbije' will be represented on the CGES Board. Jelena Matejić, M.Sc., and the Italian energy company Terna – Rete Elettrica Nazionale S.p.A., Giovanni Cerchiarini i Guido Guida.
On the same day, the inaugural meeting of the newly elected Board of Directors was held, at which it was decided that the function of Chairman of the Board of Directors for the next term would be performed by Aleksandar Mijušković, M.Sc. Eng., while the role of Deputy Vice-President was given to Giovanni Cerchiarini.
New Chairman of the Board of Directors Aleksandar Mijušković He emphasised that being elected was a great honour and responsibility for him, but also a great obligation for both the management and all employees to achieve a common goal: a modern, international electrical energy company aimed at the realisation of capital projects. which would encourage the inflow of new investments into Montenegro.
I am convinced that all of us together in the company, on the path of its development strategy, will give our utmost to become a transmission system operator which, through its progress and by following the best European practice, will at all times ensure a high degree of security for the transmission of electricity to consumers in Montenegro. That, we can and we will definitely do.", said Mijušković, recalling that he had already worked at CGES, and that he knows the company and all its potential.
Biography of Aleksandar Mijušković
Aleksandar Mijušković, He is a graduate engineer in electrical engineering – specialising in power engineering, with 26 years of relevant experience in this field. He has served as an adviser to the Executive Director of the South East Europe Coordinated Auction Office (SEE CAO), which allocates cross-border transmission capacity between the Transmission System Operators (TSOs) of South East Europe, who are also the company's founders.
Until 2019, he was the Executive Director of SEE CAO. In continuation of his significant role in the formation of this successful regional company, he held numerous positions, from Project Team Leader to Executive Director of the Project Company responsible for establishing the Office for Coordinated Auctions in Southeast Europe.
Since 1995, he has worked at the National Dispatch Centre in numerous positions, from operations dispatcher to Chief Engineer for Analytics, Energy Settlement and Forecasting, gaining extensive experience in the management of the electricity transmission system.
The last position he held at the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES), until 2012, was Director of the Sector for Regulatory, Legal, Human Resources and International Cooperation.
He was a member of the SEETSO TF (Transmission System Operators' Working Group) electricity Southeastern Europe), a member of ENTSO-E (the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity), the Market Committee and the ENTSO-E Regional Group for South-Eastern Europe, as well as a member of EUROELECTRIC (the European Electricity Industry Association), the working group for South-Eastern Europe.
Aleksandar Mijušković was one of the initiators of the project to connect Montenegro and Italy with a submarine electricity cable and a member of the negotiating team with the Italian transmission system operator, Terna.
As a member of the Montenegrin delegation, he participated in the plenary sub-committee meetings and the sectoral meetings of the enhanced regular dialogue between the European Commission and Montenegro on transport, energy, environmental and regional policy.
He has established a successful collaboration with transmission system operators, energy companies, the Energy Community Secretariat, as well as international financial institutions.
In his career to date, in addition to the above, he has been an invited speaker at numerous conferences and seminars across Europe and is a partner of the Institute for Energy for South-Eastern Europe (IENE) in Athens.
