The Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES) has donated a state-of-the-art operating table, worth 35,000 euros, to the 'Danilo I' Hospital in Cetinje, thereby enabling better care for surgical patients, as well as making the work of staff in the operating theatre easier.
This was announced at today's event marking the donation of a state-of-the-art operating table, by the Director of the 'Danilo I' Hospital, Sonja Radojičić, stating that with this gesture, CGES has confirmed itself to be a successful and socially responsible company.
„I would like to thank the great humanitarian Vesna Bracanović and her team for the time they have given and their sensitivity to the needs of our institution. The staff of the Cetinje Hospital would like to thank you most warmly for your help and understanding, and we wish you continued success in your work and hope you will continue with such humanitarian initiatives," Radojičić said.
She pointed out that, until the donation was realised, surgeons, gynaecologists and anaesthetists had been working and performing operations on an unsuitable operating table for over a year.
Chairwoman of the CGES Board of Directors, Vesna BracanovićShe emphasised that CGES, in carrying out its core activity of safe and reliable electricity transmission, continuously provides support to the community in which it operates through socially responsible actions.
„"Therefore, this donation is further support for Montenegro's healthcare system, which will, I hope, contribute to improving medical services, and will, on the other hand, be of benefit to patients," said Bracanović.
The donation to the 'Danilo I' Hospital is, as she explained, one of the company's socially responsible business practices, 'which we consider particularly significant'.
„In the past, we have on several occasions made donations to the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, specifically the Institute for Child Diseases, and the Pljevlja General Hospital. "I would like to emphasise that we consider this segment of our corporate social responsibility to be extremely important, and that we will continue to develop and pursue it with particular care in the future," said Bracanović.

Mayor of the Municipality of Cetinje, Aleksandar KašćelanHe said that the CGES donation shows how important it is to recognise the significance of socially responsible business, as well as networking different social and economic stakeholders for the benefit of the community.
„I am particularly pleased that CGES has recognised the Capital City of Cetinje as a reliable partner and has accepted our proposal to donate significant funds, in the form of an operating table, to the 'Danilo I' Hospital. "This act has not only strengthened the capacity of this healthcare institution to continue providing the high-quality medical service for which it is renowned," said Kašćelan.
The significance of the donation is much greater if, as he said, one takes into account the fact that the 'Danilo I' Hospital is the oldest healthcare institution in the country and as such deserves both special attention and a special relationship.
„And all this, for the citizens of Prijestonica and all others who deserve and should have the best possible medical care. On behalf of the citizens of Prijestonica, I thank CGES for the donation and for the friendship that has been proven many times. I confirm to the management of our hospital that in Prijestonica it has a firm foundation and the will to work together to improve capacity for the betterment of our fellow citizens," said Kašćelan.
