The cooperation agreement between the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System and Elektromreža Srbije is a very important document that will enable a successful the implementation of the planned tasks and objectives of both companies regarding the construction of the 400 kV interconnector line "Pljevlja-Bajina Bašta-Višegrad", a project within the Trans-Balkan Corridor which is ongoing. aims to improve conditions transmission of electricity between the northern and southern parts of the region and thereby enable further integration of the electricity market, as one of the priorities of the European energy policies
The signatories of the agreement, the CEOs of CGES and EMS, Ivan Asanović and Jelena Matejić, assessed that this act will contribute to the improvement and strengthening of mutual cooperation between the two companies. within their competences and in accordance with legislation and international agreements of their states, to ensure the coordination of activities which should enable the realisation of the project for a new electrical interconnection between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Montenegro.
