We hereby present the paper entitled: "SPEED REGULATION OF A DC MOTOR USING A PID CONTROLLER", whose authors are Ksenija Brakočević, Network Applications Engineer and Associate Professor Martin Ćalasan.
The widespread application of DC machines justifies the need to research methods for improving their control. Although it is theoretically impossible to achieve an ideal response, the results obtained nevertheless demonstrate significant advances in improving the response, as well as opportunities for further improvements. The development of new optimisation algorithms will enable the faster and more reliable finding of the best possible controller parameters, thereby guaranteeing an improvement in the response. It is necessary to investigate the possibilities of applying other types of controllers to solve this problem. The achievements to date in applying optimisation algorithms to PID controllers do not definitively favour any single algorithm, which leaves ample scope for further improvements," conclude the authors of this paper.
