Expanding our network of solar power plants by signing another grid connection agreement

In Podgorica today, a contract was signed between the Montenegrin Transmission System Operator and the company EE "Korita" DOO from Bijelo Polje, for the construction of infrastructure to connect a new solar power plant to our transmission system, the project value of which is over two hundred million euros. This cooperation, which was formalised Ivan Asanović, Executive Director of CGES and Damir Banovec, on behalf of the Bijelopole company, marks a step forward in strengthening our capacity for energy production from renewable sources and expanding the sustainable energy grid.

The contract covers the planning, construction and integration of a future solar power plant, with a capacity of 240 MW, at the Korita site near the border with Serbia. The investor is the Danish company European Energy, which has significant experience in building solar and wind power plants.This initiative is part of our strategy to increase the share of clean energy in Montenegro's total electricity production, thereby supporting global sustainable development goals and contributing to environmental conservation.
