The Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System and the Kotor Resource Centre for the Education and Rehabilitation of Persons with Hearing and Speech Disorders marked the donation of an interactive whiteboard to the institution by our electricity company. The Resource Centre is the only institution in Montenegro that deals with hearing and speech disorders. CGES has provided the necessary electronic and technical support for preschool children with cochlear implants. The interactive whiteboard has multiple applications and will enable the children to rehabilitate and acquire knowledge from the curriculum designed for their age group in a simpler and more effective way. Borislav Kašćelan, Director of the State Resource Centre for the Education and Rehabilitation of Persons with Hearing and Speech Disorders, emphasised at the event: "I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Montenegrin Transmission System on behalf of the children and staff for this valuable donation, which is of particular importance. This category of children primarily learns visually due to a compromised visual and acoustic balance, and the interactive whiteboard is the most suitable tool for this type of rehabilitation and education." CGES remains committed to the concept of socially responsible business, which places particular emphasis on a high degree of sensitivity towards persons with disabilities and the institutions that care for them. "This time, our choice for our corporate social responsibility initiative was not a coincidence: the Resource Centre in Kotor, as it is the only institution in Montenegro that works with people with hearing and speech impairments. Taking all this into account, as well as the fact that these children learn visually and retain information, we have provided the children with a modern electronic aid which will be of great benefit to them in the teaching process. With this act, we have demonstrated our selfless intention to provide help and support to those who need it," said Nada Pavićević, PR Manager of CGES. The Resource Centre for the Training and Rehabilitation of Persons with Hearing and Speech Disorders in Kotor is multidisciplinary in nature, which means that in addition to upbringing and education, habilitation, rehabilitation, and sensory integration, it also deals with health and social care. It uses modern technology and working methodologies. The institution is equipped with standard apparatus and specialised acoustic equipment, for both individual and group work, tailored to the type of hearing impairment.
