On 9 June 2016, the Montenegrin electricity transmission system held a ceremony to mark the completion of the expansion project of the 220/110/35 kV 'Mojkovac' substation.

The ceremony was attended by The Mayor of Mojkovac, Dejan Medojević, and numerous guests, as well as employees of this electric power company.

The completion of this exceptionally significant project will ensure the energy stability of the municipalities of Mojkovac and Kolašin.

Ivan Bulatović, the Executive Director of CGES, at the ceremony, after the words of welcome, emphasised the following: the Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System has been dedicated to improving its electricity transmission capacities, so that for Today's result We have successfully completed the second phase of the reconstruction of one of the most significant substations, whose plant is crucial for the reliable supply of electricity to the municipalities of Mojkovac and Kolašin. For this reason, it is my great pleasure to address you on the occasion of the completion of this valuable investment.

After early stages of reconstruction trafostanice 220/110/35 kV „Mojkovac”,koja je završena 2013. godine, kao prioritet se nametnuo projekat proširenja istog elektroenergetskog objekta, za jedno novo transformatorsko polje 110/35 kV, koje će obezbijediti complete degree Confidence in the 110/35 kV point-on-point transformation connection to the transmission network from which they drink Municipal Distributors and Consumers Mojkovac and Kolašin.

The first phase of the reconstruction included Formation of the busbar system and equipping two transmission lines; one transformer, two metering units and one 220 kV sectional circuit, construction of transmission lines 220 kV input-output principle , (approximately 2.5 km in length), as well as the construction of the interconnections of the 110 kV Bijelo Polje-Mojkovac and Kolašin-Mojkovac transmission lines, in which, I must emphasise, some 2.5 million euros were invested,

Considering the fact that the existence of only one 110/35 kV transformer did not provide complete to increase the level of security and reliability, particularly in the event of a power plant outage or during routine maintenance, when the distribution networks of Mojkovac and Kolašin are left without an electricity supply, CGES has embarked on the implementation of this highly demanding investment, for which it has allocated over a million euros of its own funds.

Respecting the time and solemnity of the moment, I will mention only some of the most important details of the project.Namely, this phase primarily concerned the expansion of the Mojkovac TS, namely the construction and equipping of a new transformer field, the reconstruction of the internal supply network, as well as the replacement of the 110 kV switch in the Ribarevine 2 line field.

The benefits are already apparent and they are manifold. Namely, CGES has succeeded in completing this capital project on schedule, and with its commissioning we are providing a long-term solution for the safe and high-quality power supply to the consumer areas of Mojkovac and Kolašin. And not only that. Such a high-quality, high-performance power plant will lay the foundation for the faster economic and industrial development of this part of Montenegro. The expansion also provides a backup power supply for the consumption areas of Mojkovac and Kolašin, as well as reducing the duration of power cuts. The project is also important for enabling the connection of renewable energy sources and for the smooth development of other investment projects in the Mojkovac and Kolašin area.

It goes without saying that the dedication and expertise of our employees have been and will continue to be the decisive factors in the realisation of our planned investments, as competence, or knowledge, best illustrates our strength. The works proceeded at the planned pace, so we now find ourselves with a completely finished, modern facility, which we can, without being boastful, say we are more than satisfied with.

I will take this opportunity to mention that the project includes, besides, of course, workers of CGESThe Eminent Consortium, d.o.o. Podgorica, also actively participated in the design, procurement of equipment and execution of works for the new transformer substation at the Mojkovac TS, as well as the company "New Volvox", d.o.o. Podgorica, responsible for procurement of trtransformer 110/35 kV, 20 MVA.

I would therefore like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to seeing the job through to completion.

CGES does notwill stop here, he will continue with the strong investment activities that are necessary for the transmission network and the Montenegrin economy.

This time, I will just mention a few that will mark the year 2016.

The significance of the construction of the 110/10 kV "Kličevo" substation, whose enclosed plant is built using the most modern GIS technology, is reflected, first and foremost, in a more reliable and higher-quality supply of electricity to consumers, opening up the possibility of connecting a future wind farm at Krnova, as well as new consumers, and also creating the conditions for the reconstruction of the existing 110/35 kV substation 'Nikšić'. An electric traction substation is also planned at the same location to supply power to the Nikšić-Podgorica railway line.

The new electrical power facility will be connected to the existing substation by a four-kilometre underground 110 kV cable, the completion of which is expected in 2016.

During this year, we also expect the implementation of the 110 kV 'Tivat-Kotor' transmission line. and the energising of the 110 kV Kotor substation. I must point out here that, despite the problems we are facing with the project's implementation, we are determined to complete this investment and energise the transmission line by the end of 2016.

A special place in CGES's strong investment cycle is held by the undersea interconnection with Italy, on the realisation of which work is being accelerated on both sides of the Adriatic. With our strategic partner, Terna, we are realising one of the most demanding projects currently in Europe. The substation in Lastva, the first 400 kV substation on the Montenegrin coast, will be completed by the end of the year, while the completion of the connection pylons is expected next year. This year, a significant portion of the submarine cable will also be laid from the Montenegrin side of the coast, Bulatović stated at a ceremony at the Mojkovac substation.

Mayor of Mojkovac, Dejan Medojević said that energy projects represent a significant contribution to balanced regional development and are a function of economic growth: "Today, thanks to the Montenegrin Transmission System of Montenegro and a project worth over one million euros, ensure a significant increase in the reliability and security of the power supply, as well as an improvement in the quality of the energy delivered to consumers in the municipalities of Mojkovac and Kolašin. It should be added that all larger production facilities in these municipalities will also receive the stable power source necessary for their operation. I would particularly like to highlight that this project will also contribute to the realisation of the most significant projects for our municipality: the opening up of Mount Bjelasica on the Mojkovac side for the construction of a ski resort and cable cars, as well as the connection of new micro-hydropower plants that will be built in our municipality in the future."
