The Montenegrin Electricity Transmission System (CGES) has begun work on laying a high-voltage underground cable that will connect the 'Podgorica 1' substations in Zagorič. and "Podgorica 4" in Tološi, thereby creating conditions for an even more reliable and secure electricity supply to the part of the city across the Morača, including the areas where it is expected realisation numerous infrastructure projects.
The investment is worth two million and 350 thousand euros, and the work will last for three months.
The construction of this 110-kilovolt transmission line in Montenegro's transmission network, "it will have a much greater significance than a conventional high-voltage line connecting two substations, in that it will provide a dual power supply to the 'Podgorica 4' substation, from which a large part of the capital city's consumer load is supplied," he stated. Mijat Mirković, Director of the Development and Investment Sector, at the construction site in Vranići, from where the works began.
It should be noted, said Mirković, that the 110 kV power line, which will connect the aforementioned substations, of a mixed type, i.e. from TS "Podgorica 1" to Vranići it will be above-ground, and from Vranići to TS "Podgorica 4" it will be underground.
He added that with the implementation of this project, the security and reliability of the power supply For over 25,000 electricity consumers, the level will be very high.
"In addition to the direct investment, which The amount is two million and 350 thousand euros. CGES expect intensive work on this project over the next three months, of which I would single out the reconstruction. of the overhead line from the Podgorica 1 substation to the Vranići area, the construction of the 110 kV yard at the Podgorica 1 and Podgorica 4 substations, as well as the installation of a 110 kV cable water from the location where we are currently located in the settlement The foals of TS "Podgorica 4". Starting point of the cable route, total length 2.5 kilometres, is column 12, from which the road runs across an open area and onto Đura Čagorović Street, continuing along Boško Buha Street, emerging on the road towards Marez and onwards to the TS "Podgorica 4" facility, Mirković stated.
He points out that the laying of the 110 kV underground cable is being carried out for the second time. in Podgorica, and that through such investments the transmission network is modernised, all with the aim of providing a more reliable and higher-quality supply to parts of the capital which are expanding rapidly.
"CGES, by applying such technical and technological solutions, positively impacts the quality of life of the citizens of Podgorica, takes care of environmental protection, avoids the visual impact of power lines and does not occupy space. The implementation of this project is proof that CGES is making great efforts to improve and develop its network. Upon completion of the investment, not only will the citizens benefit, but also potential investors," Mirković emphasised.
Given the fact that I would ask that traffic on this stretch be difficult for the next three months, as long as the works last. citizens, or rather the residents of these settlements, to show patience, all in the interest of the final realisation of this very significant project for all of us," concluded Mijat Mirković.
