The 'Podgorica 2' substation is one of the key hubs for supplying electricity to the central and southern regions of Montenegro. The modernisation of this substation is of paramount importance to Montenegro's transmission system, so the old transformer, which has been in operation for three decades, was recently replaced with a new one, with a capacity of 300 megavolt-amperes, valued at over one and a half million euros.

TpgIn addition, as part of the transformer replacement, the high-voltage transformer fields were also reconstructed.

With the commissioning of the new transformer, The Montenegrin coast, Cetinje and KAP have received a more reliable electricity supply. The new transformer, thanks to more modern technical solutions and the materials used, incurs lower energy losses than the transformer it replaced. It also has the capability to regulate the voltage on the 110 kV side of the transformer under load.

The transport of the transformers in Montenegro was entrusted to the Belgrade companies 'Bora Kečić' and 'Zagreb Trans', while the installation of the transformers was carried out by 'Elektroistok' - Belgrade, under the supervision of CHINT.

The testing of the transformers was carried out by CGES and the "Nikola Tesla" Institute, Belgrade.

The project for adapting the TS to the new transformer was carried out by 'Refleksing' from Podgorica, while the revision of the adaptation project done by our company.
