EIC codes / Registration of participants
The Energy Identification Code (EIC) is a unique code assigned to all participants in the domestic and European electricity market, as well as to all facilities that are part of the power system (generation units, transmission lines, substations, consumer units, meters, IT system locations, etc.). The EIC code is assigned to ensure unambiguous identification of the registered participant or facility and must be unique within the European electricity market.
The local office for issuing and updating EIC codes (LIO) in the territory of Montenegro is CGES. Updating refers to modifying or deleting an existing EIC code. To assign or update an EIC code, it is necessary to complete:
Request for issuance/update of an EIC code
The completed request, together with a copy of the excerpt from CRPS, should be sent electronically to the following address: eic.lio@cges.meThe CGES LIO verifies whether the request has been properly completed, then creates/updates the code, checks its validity, and submits it to the Central Issuing Office for EIC codes (CIO). After their verification, the code will be publicly available on the ENTSO-E website:

The Local Issuing Office (LIO) for issuing EICs in the territory of Montenegro is CGES. To assign an EIC, it is necessary to fill in the application for the issuance of an EIC and send the completed application electronically to eic.lio@cges.me. After a duly completed application, LIO CGES will create a code, check its validity, report it to the Central Issuing Office (CIO) and make it publicly available on the ENTSO website:

Participant registration for cross-border capacity allocation
The allocation of annual, monthly, and daily capacities is carried out at the borders with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, and Italy. The SEE CAO Auction Office is responsible for the allocation of cross-border capacities at the borders with Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Italy, while for cross-border capacities at the border with Serbia, joint auctions are conducted. In this case, EMS is responsible for the allocation of annual and monthly capacities, whereas CGES carries out daily and intraday allocations.
