Oct 08, 2026

Energy Week Western Balkans 2026 is taking place on 7 and 8 October at the Maestral Resort in Miločer, bringing together key representatives of the region’s energy sector.

This year’s event is focused on the theme “From Targets to Delivery”, focusing on turning energy transition plans into concrete projects, investments and new capacity.

Aleksandar Mijušković, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CGES, took part in the panel discussion “Grid Crisis or Grid Opportunity? – Unlocking Capacity for Renewables”, which addressed one of the key challenges of the energy transition: how to expand and modernize transmission grids quickly enough to accommodate new renewable energy capacity.

Together with representatives of the region’s transmission system operators, as well as the European Investment Bank and the French Development Agency, Mijušković discussed Montenegro’s perspective on grid capacity, investment opportunities and the conditions required for further development of renewable energy,

The event is also attended by CGES General Director Ivan Asanović and CGES Management Board Member Dragan Perunović.

Particular attention at Energy Week Western Balkans 2026 is being devoted to renewable energy sources, power grid capacity, regional interconnection, electricity market, energy system decarbonization and digitalization.
