Jun 18, 2026

A sponsorship agreement between Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem (CGES) and the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro (VPSCG) was officially signed today at the Trophy Hall of the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro.

The agreement, worth EUR 50,000, was signed by Ivan Asanović, General Director of CGES, and Nikola Milić, President of VPSCG, formally establishing a partnership aimed at supporting the further development of Montenegrin water polo and swimming.

“For Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem, this partnership goes far beyond a sponsorship agreement. Today, we are bringing together two successful organizations that have represented Montenegro with distinction for years– CGES as a pillar of the country’s energy stability and development, and the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro as a symbol of top-level sporting achievements, discipline, teamwork, and national pride.

Water polo is not only a sport in which Montenegro has achieved outstanding international success. It has taught us that teamwork, resilience, trust, and a shared commitment to overcoming every challenge, can deliver success at the highest level. These are values that closely reflect the culture and principles of CGES.

Over the past decades, Montenegrin water polo has written some of the brightest chapters in our sporting history.

Generations of our water polo players have demonstrated that knowledge, character, and perseverance can push boundaries and deliver results that inspire an entire nation. Their achievements serve as an inspiration to young people, as well as to all of us who work every day in sectors that play an important role in the development and well-being of our communities.

I am confident that the cooperation between CGES and the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro will contribute to the continued growth of this highly decorated sport, create new opportunities for young athletes, and help achieve results of which we can all be proud. I believe this marks the beginning of a successful and long-term partnership,” said Asanović.

VPSCG President Nikola Milić expressed his gratitude to CGES for its trust and support:

“We are delighted that CGES has recognized the importance of the work carried out by the Water Polo and Swimming Federation of Montenegro and has decided to support our activities. Partnerships such as this are of exceptional value to the development of sport, particularly when they come from socially responsible companies committed to investing in future generations. I would like to thank Mr. Asanović and CGES for the confidence they have placed in us. I am convinced that through our joint efforts we will achieve numerous successes and create even better conditions for our athletes and national teams.”

The signing of the agreement is another important step in strengthening support for Montenegrin sport and creating high-quality conditions for achieving top-level results on the international stage.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Montenegro national team players Aljoša Mačić and Đorđe Stanojević, whose presence added significance to the occasion.

To mark the beginning of the partnership and its first year, representatives of CGES were presented with the number one water polo cap — the iconic emblem of Montenegro's national water polo team, the "Sharks" ("Ajkule"), and one of the most recognizable symbols of Montenegrin sport.
