Aleksandar Mijušković, Chair of the Supervisory Board of Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem (CGES), today welcomed Professor Vladimir Božović, PhD, Rector of the University of Montenegro. The visit provided an opportunity to discuss potential areas of cooperation between CGES and the University of Montenegro and also resulted in the signing of a cooperation agreement, further strengthening ties between the company and the academic community. The agreement was signed as part of the second cycle of the programme “Scholarships for the Best. A Job with the Best”, which aims to support outstanding students and strengthen the connection between higher education and the needs of the economy.
Through its participation in the programme, CGES has reaffirmed its commitment to developing young talent and investing in the academic community. The company also took part in the previous cycle of the initiative, demonstrating that support for education and top-performing students is not a one-off activity, but rather an integral part of its long-term commitment to recognising knowledge and expertise as key resources for the development of Montenegro’s energy sector.
Aleksandar Mijušković, Chair of the Supervisory Board of CGES, emphasised that investing in young people means investing in the company’s future and the energy sector as a whole.
“The energy sector is undergoing rapid transformation, and we are facing increasingly complex development and technological challenges. Our ability to address these challenges will depend to a large extent on the knowledge, expertise and capabilities of the next generation of engineers and other professionals. That is why CGES is committed to supporting outstanding students and fostering an environment in which their dedication, knowledge and achievements are recognised and rewarded. By participating in the programme’s second cycle, we have reaffirmed our long-term commitment to the academic community and our belief that well-educated young people are among Montenegro’s greatest assets and a driving force behind its future development,” Mijušković stated.
The Rector of the University of Montenegro, Professor Vladimir Božović, PhD, highlighted the programme’s growing impact: “For the second consecutive year, the ‘Scholarships for the Best. A Job with the Best.’ programme has successfully connected the University of Montenegro’s top-performing students with leading companies and institutions across our country. The programme now brings together around 40 companies, which collectively support students through approximately 100 scholarships. We expect this initiative to make a tangible contribution to retaining young people in Montenegro, which is particularly important in the context of European integration.”
The “Scholarships for the Best. A Job with the Best.” programme bridges education and industry, providing high-achieving students with support throughout their studies and opportunities for professional development. For CGES, a company of strategic importance to Montenegro’s power system, cooperation with the academic community is a key part of developing the expertise and professional capabilities needed to ensure the secure, reliable and sustainable development of the transmission network.
By supporting the best today, CGES is helping develop the expertise that will shape Montenegro’s energy sector in the years to come.
