A digitally strong and energetically secure Montenegro
Three key electricity companies of Montenegro – Montegnegro's electricity transmission system (CGES),Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) and the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS), they signed Letter of intent which formalise the start of strategic cooperation on the construction project Consolidated Data Centre (KDC)This initiative represents a significant step towards the digital transformation of Montenegro's electricity system and the creation of a modern information hub.
Through this partnership, CGES, EPCG and CEDIS are jointly investing resources and expertise to create a technologically advanced system for data management and digital services. Consolidated data centre It will be housed in the Nikšić Steelworks industrial complex, in premises that have already been designated for this purpose. In addition to its primary role in the modernisation of electricity companies, the possibility of commercially using the KDC's capacity for the needs of other institutions and companies is also being considered.
Executive Director of CGES, Ivan Asanović, he emphasised the importance of the modern Data Centre for the stability of the electricity transmission network.
Through this project, not only would the foundations be laid to take our digitised processes to a significantly higher level, but we would also have a system that would enable more efficient management of electricity resources at a national level. The consolidated Data Centre represents a significant step forward in the modernisation of the sector and ensures better connectivity for all key participants in the electricity system. I believe that this project, with adequate support and the strategic commitment of all participants, will bring tangible benefits and further strengthen the security and reliability of Montenegro's electricity grid," emphasised Asanović.

The Consolidated Data Centre will enable better coordination between companies, reduce operational costs and improve the IT infrastructure. This is an investment that brings long-term value to the energy sector and the Montenegrin economy.", Ivanović stated.
The signatories have already launched the first activities – the preparations. Feasibility studies which will define the technical and economic parameters of the project. Based on its results, it will be adopted a separate Agreement which will specify the next steps in the realisation of the KDC.
